State Honours Ensemble Program 鈥 Queensland

Congratulations to vocalists Kaylee Cowan and Luca Blyth for their outstanding participation in the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University State Honours Ensemble Program during the holidays. This prestigious initiative fosters musical excellence among talented students across the state, with participants nominated by their College and selected through a rigorous set of criteria. Kaylee and Luca鈥檚 involvement not only reflects their personal dedication and skill but also showcases the strength of 爆料黑社鈥檚 music program and the guidance of their vocal tutor, Ms Hayley Sugars. 爆料黑社 has proudly had student representatives in all SHEP Programs this year鈥攁n impressive achievement given these are non-compulsory, co-curricular opportunities. While the College can nurture artistic growth and encourage students to embrace enriching experiences, it is ultimately the students themselves who must rise to the challenge and turn possibility into achievement.

Dress Like a Farmer Day - Friday 24 October

JC Oktoberfest Raffle

We are excitedly preparing for the upcoming Oktoberfest event scheduled for Saturday, 25 October, from 4pm to 8pm. This event aims not only to raise funds for the college but also to provide an opportunity for the college community to come together again.

For this event, we are organising a raffle, with each Year Level putting together a hamper with a particular theme.

Please to read the letter from our Junior Campus Directors for more information.

JC Christmas for the Bush

It has become a tradition in our Junior College to support the amazing work of Care Outreach by contributing to their Christmas For The Bush program.

Care Outreach has been supporting outback families for over 30 years. Christmas for the Bush is an annual event, delivering Christmas hampers and gifts to struggling families in rural and remote regions. Farming families work incredibly hard. Loss of income, isolation and depression are some of the issues these families deal with on a daily basis. Care Outreach works to bring encouragement, support and hope to farming families in need.

In Term 4, the Junior College is again supporting Care Outreach with their Christmas for the Bush appeal. You can help by donating...

  • Non-perishable food and Christmas treats
  • Toys and family gifts
  • Toiletries
  • Pre-paid visa cards

Donation baskets have been placed in every classroom. 100% goes to our farmers! For specific needs, please visit and click on the 'Christmas for the Bush' tab.

Care Outreach are excited to have our support again this year, and we look forward to assisting their Christmas for the Bush campaign. Thank you for considering this worthwhile appeal.

Christmas for the Bush will conclude with a Junior College Chapel Service lead by our Year 1 students in the SSC Chapel on Friday 7 November at 9.30am. Everyone is invited to come along.

From 爆料黑社 to the Courtroom

爆料黑社 alumna Christina Strano (Class of 2014) has achieved an incredible milestone in her professional journey, recently being admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland. She has started her next chapter as a Solicitor with Shine Lawyers, working in the area of institutional abuse law.

After completing her studies at 爆料黑社, she took some time to explore the workforce before beginning her legal career journey. Working across law firms in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, she gained valuable experience and insight into the profession. Her determination and passion for justice led her to complete a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland, graduating in 2025 before her formal admission to the Supreme Court.
